Hey #BGStars next time you look at yourself in the mirror, try looking real close.
Spot those blackheads!
How do you know you have any at all? You might spot small dark or black coloured spots, usually present on your nose, chin, back, arms and forehead; these tend to appear due to clogged hair follicles and take a while to disappear. You may be tempted to squeeze it out, DON’T!
We have jotted down a few ways of clearing blackheads, but before that don’t you want to know what causes them? It’s interesting!
What causes blackheads?
When you look at it, the first thing that might come to your mind is dirt, but those pesky dark dots crop up mainly because of excess oil on your face. The oil-producing sebaceous gland on our skin being the main reason!
So, what exactly happens? Every follicle present on your skin has a sebaceous gland and along with it there is a sebaceous filament (a tiny tube that carries sebum to the surface of the skin). The dead cells on your skin get into the follicle and mix with the sebum to create a plug. If the skin over the plug remains intact, it will become a whitehead.
A blackhead forms when a pore is only partially clogged. That black color occurs when the trapped sebum comes in contact with air. That’s oxidation, not dirt. (External factors like dirt, makeup, and pollution can certainly contribute towards buildup of oil in the follicle.)
How to get rid of blackheads the right way?
Deep Cleansing Facial
To remove blackheads and prevent them from returning, make sure you get a professional deep cleansing facial (every month) if you could. And stick to one skincare routine daily when you are at home.
Can’t Do Without An Exfoliating Cleanser
Use of an exfoliating scrub is an excellent way to to kill bacteria, flush pores, and remove cellular debris.
Black Head Remover Pads
There’s always the black head remover pads that loosen and lift cellular debris and excess sebum, while the textured pads collect and clear it away, leaving skin fresh and rejuvenated.
Protect Your Skin, Use Sunscreen
Sunscreen with SPF 30 is must for protecting skin from the damages of UV exposure. It’ll give you the required moisture and sun protection, plus prevents clogging of pores.
Oil Massage All The Way!
Use either olive oil, almond oil or argon oil which are great for your skin. Wash your face with warm water and then take 1-2 spoon of oil on your fingers and massage gently all over your face. After massaging wash your face with a good face wash.
Reap The Benefits Of Steam
The easiest way out is steam. Apply some moisturizer on your face and massage it well for about 5 minutes and then steam your face for about 10-15 minutes. Dab your face with a face towel and apply a good scrub depending on your skin type. Scrub it well and rinse it. Post this put a face mask to close the pore; ice cubes are another fab option.
Hope this was helpful ladies. Stay well-groomed!Back
